House hunting
5:59 PMFor the last sixish months, Shae and I have been counting down the days before we could move out of our one bedroom, 800sq ft apartment and into a house. We chose an apartment as a first place to live because it was convienient, in a gated community and well, everyone else seemed to be doing it! I fully regret signing a 15 month least though. 15 months is just way too long in a place you really want to get out of. Okay maybe I am being a little harsh, the apartment is nice and it was a great first place but we are NOT apartment people. We grew up in Oregon, where we had yards and lots of land. We could go outside and shoot guns in our back yard if we wanted. Here, we have no space at all. It got old real fast.
We are finally able to start house hunting. We went and looked at a cute house about ten miles away from our current apartment and I fell in love. It had a bright yellow kitchen with white cupboards, bright colored walls, a ginormous gated back yard, an adorable front yard, a garage, and a garden tub. I loved everything about it. Shae thought it was a little too small, and we are going to look at a couple more houses. This was a compromise because I wanted to settle on the first house we saw. He doesn't think we should jump for the first hose we see, and I now agree.
We are being a little picky just because we want to choose a house we can live in for the next two years while we are still here. So wish us luck! We are so beyond excited.
Do you have any tips for house hunting?
